One of the women traveling aboard the boat rescued during the morning of this Monday in waters of Lanzarote gave birth during the crossing, and had to be assisted by the Maritime Rescue helicopter once she got on the Talía coast guard.
According to details given to EFE by sources from the state society, both the mother and the newborn were in "apparently good" health, and were admitted to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital to continue with their monitoring.
