Femés enjoyed more than four hours of live rock music, with the performance of three bands, which caused the town square to be packed. More than 600 people attended this event, which took place last Saturday as part of the San Marcial de Rubicón festivities.
The City Council has highlighted the "outstanding" performance of 'Los Lola', which was joined by the groups 'Boulevard', from Playa Blanca, and 'Señor Natilla', thus completing "the luxury rock poster". The musicians performed versions of classics from the seventies and eighties in an atmosphere characterized by "euphoria and, above all, by good vibes", according to the City Council.
After the awards ceremony of the fourth edition of 'la San Marcial Trail', 'Boulevard' ignited the public with a review of catchy, current and other decades' themes. Alejandro Vallejo on drums, Pedro Vallejo on guitar and José Gutiérrez, singer and bassist, surprised by their versatility, performing songs in both English and Spanish.
'Boulevard' is a group that since its founding in 2004, in Playa Blanca, does not stop performing in pubs and private concerts. On this occasion, it opened to presentations on stages with a greater concentration of public, taking advantage of the invitation of the Femés Festival Commission and the Department of Festivities of the Yaiza City Council, led by Javier Camacho.
'Los Lola' thrill the audience
When 'Boulevard' left the stage, around midnight, the crowded Femés square was ready to enjoy the performance of 'Los Lola'. With Sergio Franquis, its leading voice at the front, the band from Gran Canaria, "hidden" in the mirror glasses of its five members, thrilled the audience.
'Los Lola' confirmed in Femés the complicity they get from the public, thanks to their quality protected by musicians with a lot of experience and the interpretation of all their versions in Spanish. After two in the morning, the attendees were still asking for more songs from this group.
Almost without time for a break, the group from Las Palmas with the name of dessert, 'Sr. Natilla', went on stage. After the performance of 'Los Lola' he did not have an easy task, but he drew on the quality of his musicians and a good repertoire to give Femés an unbeatable after-dinner, which closed the San Marcial rock concert.
Des-tapa Femés
Parallel to 'la San Marcial Trail' and the concert, neighbors and visitors enjoyed a space next to the square to share with friends and family and savor exquisite dishes, cheeses and good wine. One of the great novelties of the San Marcial 2014 Festivities has been the organization of the Des-tapa Femés Gastronomic Encounter, which was also open during Sunday.
Quesería Rubicón, Tapas El Chupadero, Bar Punta Cana, La Bodeguita del Tablero, Restaurante El Guachinche and Bar El Peregrino offered creations such as seafood croquettes, salmon rolls, piquillo pepper stuffed with cherne and anchovies in vinegar. The Yaiza City Council has thanked everyone for their participation and has encouraged them to be in future editions of this event.
