Maritime Rescue rescues a boat near the coast of Lanzarote

56 people were traveling in the pneumatic boat, including 6 women. The Red Cross has transferred 53 of them to health centers.

Maritime Rescue has rescued this Thursday a pneumatic-type boat with 56 people on board 61 nautical miles northeast of Lanzarote, as reported by the Emergency Consortium.

There were 56 people on board the boat, 50 men and 6 women, all of sub-Saharan origin.

The event occurred in international waters and was detected by the Merchant "Global Unity" at 12:15 island time.

The migrants have been transferred to Puerto Naos where they have been assisted by the Red Cross. The NGO has transferred 53 of them to health centers for different pathologies.
