The Socio-Cultural Center of Maneje was the stage on Saturday night for the presentation of the candidates for Miss Maneje and Queen of the 2011 Festivities. The election gala will be held next Saturday, December 3rd.
The event also featured a gathering of batucadas, in which four groups participated, to the rhythm of drums and whistles. The first to liven up the night was Crazy Drumers, followed by the batucadas Ugán, Woman and Bentchey.
In total, ten candidates for Mis Maneje paraded in sportswear, under the direction of Oswaldo Cabrera. The Councilor for Festivities of Arrecife, Víctor Sanginés, was present at the event and encouraged the aspirants.
The ten candidates for the title are Sara González Naranjo, Michelle Durán Callazos, Iraya González Camacho, Priscila Expósito Gil, Laura García Cabrera, Fátima Doveda Cabrera, Odaly Herrera
Ascensión, Zulaima Morales García, Valentina Gallego Vallejo and
Aisata Diallo Martín.
The election gala, which will be held next Saturday, December 3, will feature guest artists and performances by Got Talen, Xtrem Up!, Lanzarote Baila and Fran Vega.
Festivities program
The patron saint festivities of Maneje continue this week with numerous activities, which will begin this Monday with a children's ping pong championship, starting at 5:00 p.m. and the performance of Play Back Simpatía, at 9:00 p.m. On Tuesday there will be Latin dance at 9:00 p.m., by José (the Cuban), while on Wednesday there will be a children's Play Station championship (5:00 p.m.), as well as a Dessert Workshop (6:00 p.m.) and the final of envite (9:00 p.m.).
Thursday, December 1st will be Senior Citizens Day, and there will be a snack for seniors and dancing. Friday will be Youth Day,
with youth activities and, on Saturday, the Election Gala
Miss Maneje and Queen of the 2011 Festivities. On Sunday, December 4, the festivities will conclude with a breakfast with churros and chocolate (9:00 a.m.), bouncy castles, games and crafts (10:00 a.m.) and Adults Play Back (9:00 p.m.), as well as the awards ceremony.
It should be noted that the Triduum in honor of the Virgen de la Milagrosa was
developed this weekend with the imposition of the Medal and the offering for the poor, as well as the celebration of the solemn Eucharist.
