The tuning, lyrics and interpretation of the murga afilarmónica Los Tabletúos in the Teguise Murgas Contest earned them the first prize, valued at 700 euros and applauded by the numerous public that gathered on Wednesday night on the stage of the Nautical Shopping Center in Costa Teguise. The second prize, of 500 euros, went to the murga Las Vacilonas, whose staging and songs were also valued by the jury. Los Tabletúos and Las Vacilonas also came in first and second place respectively in the Arrecife murgas contest.

The head of Culture and Festivities of Teguise, Olivia Duque, valued the level demonstrated by the nine murgas that participated in the event and the follow-up of the public that attended this first contest organized by the Corporation. In fact, the councilor has committed to give continuity to the contest in the coming years.

In this first murgas contest, the jury was composed of the director of the Municipal School of Music, Ayoze Rodríguez; the official chronicler of Teguise, Francisco Hernández Delgado; the director of the Coral de La Villa, Nuvi Tavío; the director of the San Ginés Choir, José Antonio Roldán; and the journalist and presenter, Francisco Robayna. During the jury's deliberation, the attendees enjoyed the performance of the chirimurga Los Muy Yayos from Gran Canaria.
