"Our side is not seen and we are suffering". That is the message that the owner family of the house where Gabriela resides, who has an eviction order and camped since last Monday in front of the Arrecife City Council, wanted to launch. It has been the owner's daughter who has contacted La Voz to give her version, and has assured that Gabriela "refused to pay completely" the rent of the apartment, despite the fact that, according to her own statements, she earns 700 euros per month plus a pension of 500 euros from her mother.

"This woman has not paid a low rent of 300 euros in a year", said Jessica, who says that they have tried to contact Gabriela to explain that they need to recover the house. "My mother called her and asked if she could leave the house because her husband needed it," explained the daughter of the marriage, pointing out that they tried again and found that "the doors were closed", so "there was no way to talk to her".

According to Jessica, they told her "in good ways" and "please", and asked her to leave the house because her father "has a fairly strong disability" and "has been unable to go outside for a year", because he now lives in a house with stairs and needs a low house, like the one they have rented to Gabriela. In addition, another of her daughters resides in the same building. "He is very ill and delicate and needs his house," said Jessica, explaining that "he has a tumor in his eye, is amputated, is on dialysis and is bad for the heart."

"Let whoever has to take care of it take care of it"

"We have been waiting for months for this person to leave," laments the daughter of the owners, who explains that now from "Social Affairs and the Government of the Canary Islands" they have "called them to see if we let her stay in the house 15 more days". Faced with this situation, Jessica asks "that whoever has to take care of it take care of it", because she insists that her father cannot be in the house where he is now.

Regarding the measures they have taken, she affirms that "everything is where it has to be, in the Court". And although they want there to be a remedy to the conflict, she has asked Gabriela "not to be a liar" and not to give "alarms of a situation that is not real". For example, "that my mother did not come to collect the rent is all a lie", explained Jessica, in relation to some statements that she says Gabriela made.

Likewise, she has pointed out different problems that they have had with Gabriela while she has been rented. Thus, Jessica has denounced that they have had to endure "brutal scandals" and the fact of having left "the house completely destroyed". In addition, she assures that she denounced her mother to the Police "because the hydro was broken", even when "she did not pay the rent", and emphasizes that her father "is paying IBI, garbage, water, electricity...", without being able to dispose of his home.
