The Lanzarote Time Bank is now a reality. After long months of management and definition, the collaborative economy proposal based on the exchange of time will be presented publicly on Friday, starting at 6:30 p.m., at the Arrecife Municipal Recova. Over the course of two hours, the working group responsible for the Time Bank will inform attendees, instruct them on the details of its operation, and register those who wish to do so.
The party, whose entrance is free, will include the screening of explanatory videos, live music, and children's entertainment to facilitate the presence of parents. The purpose of this initiative, according to the organizing team, is to facilitate the provision of services and resources between those people who have skills, knowledge, or products but lack money.
"Unemployment, the first and most serious consequence of the crisis, has left many people without work and, therefore, without economic resources. The role of the Time Bank is to facilitate the exchange of services for services or for products, acting as a meeting platform," the organizers point out.
After its presentation on Friday, and once the access codes of the users who request it have been processed, the Lanzarote Time Bank will be launched to offer, according to the wishes of the initiative's managers, "a small respite for many family economies in these difficult times."
The Lanzarote Time Bank is an initiative with social and solidarity purposes, non-profit and free for all its participants.
