The meteorological instability settles these days in Lanzarote, where the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated a yellow alert for rain this Friday.
This alert will be in effect from 3:00 PM this Friday until, at least, Saturday morning. Specifically, a precipitation accumulation of 15 millimeters per hour is forecast.
The heavy showers may be accompanied by some isolated storm on the island. Furthermore, these rains are expected to be stronger in the northeast, especially in the late afternoon hours.
Meanwhile, temperatures will be between 21 and 27 degrees and the wind will be light to moderate from the north.
Specifically, these days will go from the entry of a humid flow from the south to another from the poles with the troughing of a trough(a tongue of cold air) that will probably end up becoming a DANA (Isolated Depression at High Levels).
Current predictions indicate that there is "considerable uncertainty" about the position where this trough will be located, but cloudy skies with locally moderate showers are expected, and it cannot be ruled out that some may be heavy.
Current estimates consider that this trough and subsequent DANA would not directly affect the archipelago but would probably remain located north of the islands, between the Canary Islands and the Gulf of Cadiz.
