Air Force fighter pilots participating in the SIRIO22 exercise perform an in-flight refueling mission over the skies of Lanzarote

The Lanzarote Military Airfield hosts for the second time the EART22 exercise (European Air to Air Refuelling Training) of in-flight refueling. This year's edition includes the participation of three tanker aircraft, an Italian Kc-767A, a French A330 MRTT and a Canadian A320.

These maneuvers carried out by the ETAC (European Air Transport Command) within the framework of the SIRIO 22 training, the largest national training of the Air and Space Force, were presented this Tuesday at the facilities of the Lanzarote Military Airfield. These support tests are essential for other units to carry out their mission, as well as to highlight the contribution of these Air and Space Force facilities on the Island in the participation of training and in the air defense of the Canary Islands. In addition, a demonstration of the capabilities of the MQ-9 Predator B drone, newly incorporated into the Air and Space Force, was carried out.

The event was attended by, among other authorities, the Division General Chief of the Canary Islands Air Command, Juan Pablo Sánchez de Lara, the Government Delegate in the Canary Islands, Anselmo Pestana, the island director of the General State Administration, Juan Ramón Pérez, and the Minister of Energy and Industry of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Ariagona González.
