The Lanzarote photographer Juan Méndez has captured spectacular images of the Northern Lights from Lanzarote this Saturday morning.

Méndez explains that it was about two in the morning "on one of my night outings, I was able to enjoy something that unfortunately does not usually happen in our islands." "Both in Las Salinas de Janubio and in the islet of the hawks I enjoyed this incredible night of auroras and satellites, it was something totally incredible!," says the photographer.

As explained by Aemet, the polar aurora is an electrometeor consisting of a luminous phenomenon that appears in the upper layers of the atmosphere in the form of arcs, bands, curtains, etc.
