Dariam Coco, from Lanzarote, daughter of businessman Basilio Coco, debuted this Monday as an actress on the small screen. Playing a Miss who, excited, wins the title of Miss Costa Española, the 21-year-old made her first television appearance in the Telecinco series 'Anclados', which premiered last week.
In this second chapter of the series, which takes place on a ship, Dariam specifically played Miss Costa Canaria. As an aspirant to win the beauty contest, she had to face the questions of the jury and, finally, she won the title and was crowned amidst tears and applause.
Dariam explains that her first foray into the television world "was an incredible experience". "Filming with actors like Miren, who we have seen in 'Aída' (Miren Ibarguren, who played Soraya in the Telecinco series), and meeting them in person and seeing that they are very approachable is really fantastic. And the first debut as an actress, very exciting", she told La Voz.

For the young woman from Conejera, this is her first approach to the world of acting or, as she herself says, a "total debut". Although she has been in Madrid for 3 years, the reason that took her there was quite different. Dariam moved to the capital to study journalism, a profession that she has "always" "loved", with the aim of becoming a sports journalist. In her path, acting then crossed. "Apart from journalism, acting began to catch my attention and I signed up for a course", she says.
It was precisely this course that began last September with the actor and director Carlos Cabero that has now taken her to the small screen. "The casting came up because the teacher runs an agency, he put me in his agency and from there he presented me for the casting and I was selected", she explains.

Now with a first experience behind her, Dariam has confirmed that "being an actor is something totally different, a different profession in which you have a lot of fun working". "And the truth is that it is very addictive", she admits. Despite this, she affirms that when faced with the dilemma of choosing between journalism and acting, "she could not choose".
Now, she hopes that more doors will open for her as an actress. "Hopefully more things will come out. I don't want to get my hopes up too much just in case, but I have confidence that they will come out", she explains. In any case, she is clear about what the next step is: "Keep working to do it better and better".
