The groups Canarias por Palestina and the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement (BDS) have called a rally in favor of the Palestinian people for this Saturday, October 5. Specifically, the demonstration will take place on Calle León y Castillo, 6, at the Casa Amarilla, starting at 12:00 noon.

This rally is also called in a total of six islands of the archipelago, with the exception of La Graciosa and La Gomera.

Among other demands, its organizers demand an end to the arms trade and the State's relations with Israel. In addition, it commemorates the "victims of apartheid and occupation" for the first year of genocide in Palestine and the 76 years of Israeli colonization.

In addition, Izquierda Unida Canaria has once again urged the citizens of the Canary Islands to mobilize for peace and an end to the genocide in Palestine. The party has thus publicly joined the mobilizations organized by the Canary and Tenerife Coordinators for Palestine and the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement (BDS).

Luisa Tamayo, national coordinator of IUC, has celebrated that "groups and citizens
continue to be organized demanding compliance with international law and
human rights", she has also expressed her concern "since Israel continues its
military escalation with the same impunity, due to the passivity and complicity of a large part
of the international community
, endangering the stability and security of
the countries in the area and even the planet".

Tamayo insisted that "impunity is total when the United Nations allows Netanyahu to speak before the General Assembly, without complying with any of its resolutions, redoubling attacks on the Palestinian population and now once again on the Lebanese".

From IUC, the recognition of the State of Palestine and the
opening of diplomatic relations has been positively valued, but it condemns the fact that no forceful measures are taken
such as those proposed by Izquierda Unida-Sumar
, in line with those
proposed by civil organizations, breaking off diplomatic, commercial and diplomatic relations with Israel, ending the sale of weapons and preventing its
participation in defense and security fairs.

To conclude, she demanded that the United States and Europe break off relations and prevent the supply of weapons to the genocidal State of Israel.
