Lanzarote, awaiting a new heat episode that will bring temperatures of up to 38 degrees

The State Meteorological Agency foresees that this sharp increase in temperatures will begin to be noticed on Monday

Lanzarote and La Graciosa will experience a new intense episode of heat next week that could leave temperatures of up to 38 degrees, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

During this weekend, temperatures will be typical of summer with values between 30 and 32 degrees. However, the heat will increase notably at the beginning of the week

On Monday, July 6, maximums are forecast that could reach 34 degrees in the interior of the southern part of the island. In the north and northeast, values will be slightly lower, between 27 and 30 degrees. For their part, minimums will be between 20 and 22 degrees.

Looking ahead to Tuesday the 7th, the heat episode will intensify even further, leaving suffocating temperatures that will reach 38 degrees. The heat will be greater in the interior areas of Lanzarote, while in the north values will be between 33 and 36 degrees. Minimums will range between 20 and 23 degrees.

On Thursday, high temperatures will continue, although they will decrease slightly, as maximum values between 35 and 37 degrees are expected.

At the moment, the State Meteorological Agency has not activated any warnings for this situation, although it will be necessary to pay attention to updates. According to Aemet, this episode will affect Lanzarote and the rest of the archipelago until Thursday, when temperatures will begin to drop notably.
