Kevin Giraldo Ayala (27) singer, composer and musical producer. He started singing when he was very little, at twelve years old, although he has been dedicated to it professionally for five years. A nurse by profession, although he has always been clear about his true passion "it's my plan A", he acknowledges. "If I had the head I have now, I would have always dedicated myself to music", and that way "I would have let my mother know".

Colombian by birth but proud to have grown up in Lanzarote: "I feel from here and it is where I want to be". So much is his love for the island that one of his main musical objectives is: "to put Lanzarote on the map". A land that he feels is his own "for me being Canarian is a feeling, I grew up and studied here and the Canary Islands are my home."

"I want people to be curious to see where the LZ-406 video clip was recorded"

With his new single "LZ-406" he seeks to present the island to the outside world so that "people are curious to see where the video clip was recorded", (created by Rec Wolf). For the location, he confesses that "we focused on the volcanic landscape", also "I wanted the song to have the name of a road". That's why it occurred to me that "with some special numbers" I could look for "if it existed" and when "I found it we went to record there directly". "It is my production (together with my producer Adrián Deluxe) focused on discovery", he details.

Regarding the sound, this time, "we wanted to change the formula a little" betting on a "more spatial and commercial sound". A project with which to "take risks", also in the lyrics, making it "more personal" so that "people identify with it", he comments on his composition with B.Carli and Deryam Álvarez. Although he recognizes that it is "difficult" to find the balance: "there are times when you don't know what you want to convey."

His songs are based on "sensations", "inspired by stories" but the main objective is "not to make empty music". Something for which he resorts to connecting with music while driving "in the car I usually find inspiration", to then "get out and write".

"If any Canarian or Lanzarote artist reads us, let them be encouraged and we will collaborate"

He also gives life to his own songs: "I write my lyrics" and he recognizes that "he focuses a lot on the composition part". In addition, he vindicates the need for Canarian artists to unite to collaborate together, something that he does "many times I meet with other composers to put ideas in common". He expresses his desire for there to be communication between them "we have to start collaborating much more among ourselves", something to which he adds his wish that it happens "if any Canarian or Lanzarote artist reads us, let them be encouraged and we will collaborate".

He has many projects in hand, that's why he wanted to let us know that "maybe by the end of April he will do some concerts on the island" although "there is nothing concrete yet". Despite having released a new single, he is still "open to receiving proposals" 100% and this is demonstrated "we want to give concerts in the Canary Islands during the summer".

Working to "release singles every month or two", is the point in which he finds himself. The most outstanding project is "from the people for the people" with which to "mix the Canarian and Andalusian influence".

He tries to continue "learning as a producer, taking singing lessons and composing", work that he combines with his other profession. He started "recording and training himself alone" but he is clear that "it is a long-distance race"

"I like to take Lanzarote as a flag"

With a very clear motto, the interview ends "I like to take Lanzarote as a flag". He recognizes his passion for its food and its places: "I always order papas con mojo and wine". "The "Jameitos" that are unique in their kind". "From here we are very eager to receive people", he confesses.

In addition, the island boasts that lifestyle that fits so well with his personality "I love the day to day, so slowly, with a peace that cannot be described. You have to feel it."
