Professor José Luis Yagüe died this Saturday, January 8, at the age of 80. Yagüe was one of the first English teachers in Lanzarote, taught classes in several educational centers such as Agustín Espinosa and inaugurated in the 90s the Institute of Yaiza, of which he was director.

José Luis was a very beloved man among the generations of students to whom he taught classes and among his fellow teachers. In addition to teaching classes, he carried out extracurricular activities that had a great impact on the island. The dinners to raise funds for the trips in the IE of Yaiza were famous, where the students dressed in gala served a delicious menu to the relatives.

He leaves behind his wife, Mª Carmen Platón Hernández, two children, José Gregorio and Jesús María Yagüe Platón, his daughter-in-law Ana Margarita Lorenzo and his granddaughter Natalia Yagüe Lorenzo.

The wake is installed in Alianza Canaria in Altavista, where the Word of God will be celebrated this Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
