Second-year students from IES de Teguise have been able to learn more about the history and culture of the municipality through the "From the Sea to the River" gymkhana, a recreational training activity developed in the historic center of the Villa. In it, the students had to solve tests and riddles related to the most representative historical-cultural elements of the town.
In this ecotourism project carried out by the Teguise City Council, around 15 strategic points were subject to tests for the students of the school, who were divided into two groups, natives and conquerors, and carried out different activities. At the end of the different games, they carried out a sharing session to observe the history of Teguise through the places visited.
In this way, the Teguise City Council affirms that it "continues to value the Natural and Ethnographic Heritage by promoting ecotourism and active tourism through the Ecotur Route." The mayor, Oswaldo Betancort, has pointed out that they seek to "conserve, rehabilitate and enhance the natural and landscape heritage, through the renovation and diversification of tourist activity." For this, he affirms that his government group is "conditioning the rich ethnographic heritage with signage and delimiting routes so that everyone can enjoy the spectacular landscape of the municipality."

The Consistory explains that the project of public interest "From the Sea to the River" has a budget of 107,205 euros. With it, eco-modules will be implemented for sections longer than 20 kilometers where it is necessary to condition the route, which is outlined as a path that, crossing the intra-island territory of the municipality from south to north (or vice versa), will unite the two most representative coasts of the same: the official tourist area of Costa Teguise with the town of La Caleta de Famara.
"On its route it will collect the most representative landscapes of the municipality and a string of facilities linked, for the most part, to the use of water, both that from the ocean and materialized in the extinct salt flats, as well as cisterns, maretas, laundries and other facilities associated with primary activities. In addition, it will allow you to enjoy wide views of Lanzarote and part of the group of islets that make up the Chinijo Archipelago," they highlight from the Consistory.
