The town of Guatiza got involved this past Saturday with a fashion show that served to showcase the creations of one of its most creative residents, Gerardo Pérez. The event was part of the town's festivities in honor of the Cristo de las Aguas. 14 designs were shown, based on "recycling" and the "reuse of denim scraps", which were defended, with very "good attitude", by a group of Guatiza residents of different ages.

Gerardo Pérez finds precisely in these elaborations a "therapy to fight against the Parkinson he suffers". In some way, his creative impulse led him to take a pattern making course that allows him to set some "challenges with which to motivate himself to continue in the fight", points out the Teguise City Council.

"The example of this neighbor is a lesson in life and good energy"

For the councilor of Sociocultural Centers, Carlos Cejudo, who was present in an auditorium full of public in the C.S.C Taiga, "the example of this neighbor is a lesson of life and good energy, because he has found a valve of escape to face with the best spirit a degenerative disease." Cejudo congratulated the Festival Committee for organizing this event and the board of the Sociocultural Center, "since it is important to value the talent that exists among our neighbors."
