A total of 55 users of the Senior Dynamization Project of the Department of Seniors of the City Council of Arrecife enjoyed a cultural visit to several wineries in La Geria on March 8.
The activity, which took place within the framework of the celebration of International Women's Day, is part of the annual program designed by the Area, which includes the population centers of La Destila, Titerroy, Altavista and Argana.
The group participating in this visit was made up of women from the municipality who attend the workshops that the team led by Rosmen Quevedo makes available to seniors on a weekly basis.
Thus, throughout the year, these and other users actively participate in all kinds of activities ranging from painting and dancing to ball games, computer workshops, cultural visits and healthy walks, crafts, psychomotricity, physical activities and activities related to the emotional and cognitive part.
“Keeping our seniors active is vital for their day-to-day life, for their physical, mental and social health. Staying active allows them to promote their autonomy, reduce the risk of cognitive decline and combat depression and loneliness. It is in our hands to provide them with the tools that allow them to enjoy a better quality of life,” says Quevedo.
