Strong gusts of wind and waves in La Graciosa

The strong wind and waves that are hitting especially the north of Lanzarote have caused gusts of up to 95 kilometers per hour to be recorded this Monday in Famara, as reported by the manager of the Emergency Consortium to La Voz.

Both Lanzarote and La Graciosa are this Monday under yellow alert for strong winds and pre-alert for adverse coastal phenomena. In addition, AEMET has also activated the yellow alert for haze that will extend until Wednesday, while the wind alert will remain until this Tuesday.

The bad weather conditions have caused delays and cancellations in maritime routes between Lanzarote and La Graciosa. The 5:00 p.m. ferry from Líneas Romero has managed to depart due to the slight improvement in the wind, but according to the company, "the wind is intensifying again."

For their part, the boats scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. from and to La Graciosa have been able to set sail. The shipping company will continue the day with the 5:30 p.m. route from the eighth island to Órzola, but will end the services for today due to the complicated weather.
