The Security and Emergency Consortium has reported the presence of jellyfish in Playa Dorada, in Playa Blanca and have put up the flag to alert bathers.

The recommendations in the presence of this marine animal on a beach include not walking along the shore and not touching them even if they are dead or fragmented.

In addition, if one stings us, the first thing we should do is clean the area always using salt water or, failing that, saline solution. Fresh water can be harmful because it could further expand the poison. If there are remains of tentacles attached to the skin, they should be removed with tweezers very carefully without ever touching it directly with our hands.

Also, cold can be applied to the area but for no more than 20 minutes. This way we will avoid inflammation and relieve pain. If the pain is very intense or does not subside, it is best to go to a medical center.
