The Maritime Rescue device and emergency services experienced an intense night this Tuesday with two operations related to the arrival of irregular migration boats to Lanzarote, which left a balance of nearly 150 people located.

The first intervention occurred after sighting a dinghy east of the island, about 20 kilometers from the coast. The boat was located by Salvamar Al Nair, which proceeded to rescue approximately 120 people.

According to the information provided during the operation, some of the rescued people were in apparent poor health, so the corresponding health device was activated for their attention upon arrival at the Arrecife dock, scheduled for around 01:30 hours.

Hours later, another irregular migration boat arrived on its own to Caleta del Campo beach, in the municipality of Haría. On board were 28 people, including four women and one minor, all in apparent good health.

In this second incident, members of the Guardia Civil, Maritime Rescue, Local Police of Haría, National Police, Civil Protection, Red Cross, the Canary Emergency Service, and personnel from Lanzarote Airport participated, within the device coordinated by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112.

Both operations remained open throughout the early morning until the attention of the migrant people and the coordination of the different deployed resources were completed.
