Fog and wind shear problems at Tenerife North airport are also affecting flights connecting Lanzarote with the neighboring island. According to the company Binter, all flights scheduled between the César Manrique airports and Tenerife North are experiencing significant delays this Sunday, July 6, and even one of them had to be diverted.
Air Controllers have confirmed through their social networks that the operation in Tenerife North is being seriously compromised by the dense fog and wind shear, a meteorological phenomenon that causes sudden changes in wind direction and speed, affecting approach and landing maneuvers.
In addition, at Tenerife South airport, which acts as an alternative, similar incidents have also been recorded, which has forced some crews to opt for additional diversions.
From AENA they have issued a notice recommending passengers to "check with their airline the status of their flight" before traveling to the airport.
The situation remains under monitoring while adverse weather conditions persist.
