Costa Teguise is preparing to experience its great Carnival parade, a festival that is expected to be attended by thousands of Lanzarote residents and tourists next Saturday at 6:00 p.m. This was stated by the mayor, Oswaldo Betancort, at the presentation of the Teguise Carnival.
For the mayor, this is a "great opportunity to transmit the world of fantasy and joy of Carnival, adorned by music and rhythm, by imagination and by the desire to have fun." In addition, he recalled that this year, the Carnival will bring the Gods of Olympus to the corners of Teguise and he is confident that there will be "more participation than ever."
The Councilor for Festivities, Daniel Morales, has announced that the Carnivals will have 23 groups, including murgas, comparsas and batucadas, as well as 18 floats. "Only in Teguise, we have seven groups with more than 230 young people, which means that the associative fabric in the municipality has grown significantly, which will make our Carnival much bigger and more fun," Morales defended.
One of the novel activities will be the first "Carnival Running", a five-kilometer race in which the participants will be dressed up.
