The Ministry of Education announced this Wednesday the suspension of classes on Thursday in La Graciosa, Tenerife, and La Palma due to the passage of Storm Nuria. This decision was made following the alert issued by the Government of the Canary Islands, which forecasts strong winds on these islands and, in addition, poor sea conditions.

Very strong winds are expected, which could bring gusts of between 70 and 100 kilometers per hour in Lanzarote and La Graciosa, while in La Palma and Tenerife, gusts could reach and exceed 110-130 kilometers per hour.

According to the Department of Education, the staff of the educational centers may carry out their teaching work from their homes, if they have the necessary means to do so. In those teachings in which it is not possible to switch to the non-face-to-face modality, the teaching activity will be suspended.

In addition, the Ministry has reminded that the center's management must report any incident to its area Inspection that prevents the resumption of school activity on Friday, April 4, 2025.
