Comisiones Obreras (CCOO) and the company Urbaser have signed a new collective agreement for workers attached to the selective collection service, attached to the Cabildo de Lanzarote.
The union assures that the meetings with the company began in April 2021. And they explain that the previous agreement was in "ultra-activity" since 2016, so the workers needed "yes or yes an update" since they were suffering "a loss of purchasing power."
From CCOO Lanzarote, they value "very positively" the signing of the new collective agreement of application, which, among other things, comes to tackle "as a lever" the wage gap that existed between the workers.
Among the improvements achieved after the signing of the new agreement, Comisiones Obreras explains that there has been a "legislative update in the area of social law", as well as the "salary increase to all workers". In addition, the "recognition in improvements in paid licenses" and "life insurance for workers" has also been achieved.
The union also points out that the "relocation of workers" has been agreed, and "a hiring committee has been created to cover new vacancies". Finally, Comisiones Obreras points out that the "recognition of weekly rest" and the "creation of a new professional category, encouraging labor promotion among workers" have been signed.
From CCOO they appreciate "the understanding on the part of the company in the collective negotiation, reaching at all times satisfactory agreements for the workers."
