The Asociación Equipo Europa, a Spanish association of youth, Europeanist and non-partisan character, has called for a vote "in a transversal way" for the European elections on June 9. "57% of the laws approved in Spain in 2022 were the result of guidelines and decisions taken at European level," he stressed in a manifesto.

The spokesman of the Asociación Equipo Europa in the Canary Islands, Diego Ruiz, has echoed these demands to ask for "high participation". In addition, they seek to obtain "the largest number of signatures possible".

"It's not just Europe, it's your future," added this association, which has 4,800 members and 18 delegations. In this line, the manifesto has defended a "transversal and universal" vote for the European elections, ensuring that, as EU citizens, "we must become aware of our voice and vote in the decisions that are made".

In this sense, they have indicated that "the European elections are the ones that most directly influence our lives".

The Asociación Equipo Europa has stressed that the vote must "reflect the general feeling of European citizens" and that "the more people participate, the more legitimate the result will be".

Meanwhile, he stressed that "it is the protection of the environment and the countryside, the rule of law and welfare, borderless mobility, equality between men and women, Erasmus scholarships, vaccines for our elders and your security against foreign powers that do not believe in our democratic values", established as examples the manifesto.

Finally, Equipo Europa wanted to send a message of awareness so that young people vote consciously and rigorously. "Vote being critical, but do not vote angry," they advised, "the European Union of the future must be improved by listening to everyone."

Thus, the organization wanted to mobilize the young vote, pointing out the relevance of the democratic contribution both general and the youth sector to achieve a "European Union that deserves even more worth it".
