Lanzarote-based artist Lucía Entrialgo will offer three artistic retreats for nature and painting lovers in 2024. A group of 10 people will experience four or seven days of adventure, disconnection, and relaxation on the island. Spring, summer, and autumn will be the three seasons in which these retreats will take place. "We have chosen these dates precisely because of the climate and the lower influx of tourists" on the island, the young entrepreneur told La Voz.

Entrialgo is a product and service designer and has worked as a 'Project Manager' leading teams and solving problems in several Spanish companies. She was a technological innovator for years, and started again as an entrepreneur only three weeks ago. She has decided to embark on entrepreneurship again. Years ago she already did it with a "toy brand", reveals the artist. The artistic retreat she has prepared is her first project within a company that has just been born. "I am an artist at heart, an illustrator all my life," she points out. But as I am also "focused on user service", therefore, "I will be the one who receives the clients, takes care of their experience, explains what the retreat consists of and ensures that their stay is satisfactory", she added.

Selective clients, 'premium' tourists and locals

An initiative organized by her company 'The Sun Colective', in which some "very selective, premium tourists and also locals" will stay in Lanzarote, and will move around different areas of the island, visiting its most touristy places (including some of the beaches). "The locations will be changing throughout the retreat," Entrialgo highlighted. In addition, within the program, they will carry out activities such as giving a "surf lesson", Entrialgo announced. An initiative in which you can participate "by contact" and for which you must pay between "1,210 and 2,500 euros per person", she pointed out.

The retreat days will be full of artistic workshops that will be taught in English and Spanish, such as the watercolor workshop that will be led by a Portuguese surfer, one of poetry, writing or mural, another workshop with a local artist in which the experience of what it is like to live and create from the island is told, which will end this first meeting in the spring of next year. Classes during which "those people alone will get closer to disconnecting with everything that Lanzarote offers", highlights Lucía.

The fundamental objective is also to offer artists a space to grow. For those who wish to find a place to spend "a short period of time, get inspired, improve their artistic practice or discover new techniques to create", she highlights.

Linking Lanzarote with art

The initiative of her company began with the original idea of linking Lanzarote with the world of art. She has given the island an opportunity since she moved and located it here to "highlight living in a place like Lanzarote and linking it with art and culture", she confessed.

Through this retreat, Lanzarote is also demonstrated and presented as "a unique place in the world", she assures. For the artists who reside on the island and expand their art, as is the case of Lucía Entrialgo, "more artists are needed". "I think that for how spectacular the island is, there should be more artists," she concluded.
