Arrecife opens a point to centralize aid and donations for those affected by the DANA

The Arrecife Civil Protection warehouse will open every day, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., so that residents can bring their donations of non-perishable products and materials.

The Arrecife City Council has opened a line to centralize the aid that citizens can provide with donations of products and materials, destined for families who have suffered the devastating consequences of the rains recorded in several areas of the Peninsula, as a result of the Dana. The Arrecife Civil Protection facilities have been open since this Saturday, November 2, so that residents can bring their contributions of products and materials. 

The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, has reported that the City Council will cover the transportation of these donations to the port of Valencia and to centralize the collection of non-perishable products and household material, a central point has been opened at the headquarters of Civil Protection of Arrecife, in the area behind the Police Station in the capital of Lanzarote. This warehouse will remain open every day of the week, from 9 in the morning until 9 p.m.

The Councilor for Security and Emergencies, Kevin Cortés, who will coordinate these shipments from Civil Protection, has detailed that, from Arrecife, through the Technical Coordinator of Civil Protection, is in contact with Civil Protection of Valencia, for the coordination of shipments, and detail to the citizens of Lanzarote, the call for products and materials that are urgently required to assist families who have suffered the devastating effects of the DANA.

According to the first needs in these areas damaged by the rains, mainly in the province of Valencia, utensils such as shovels, buckets, wheelbarrows, non-perishable food, basic necessities and hygiene products, blankets, sheets, warm clothes, etc. are required...

From the City Council, the mayor has detailed, joint donations will also be made with other public administrations that are channeled through the Canary Federation of Municipalities (FECAM) and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) that will allow increasing the endowments for the reconstruction of the affected areas in the Peninsula.

Yonathan de León, and Councilor Kevin Cortés, have thanked the dedication and total availability of the Civil Protection volunteers to reinforce the collection of these materials, whose predisposition of its members has been from the first moment. Likewise, the Arrecife City Council has offered the technical and personnel assistance of Civil Protection so that, if required, they would travel to the Peninsula in coordination with other troops from Lanzarote and the Canary Islands.
