The Arrecife City Council maintains the suspension of all outdoor activities this Wednesday, June 28, due to high temperatures.

Astrid Pérez signed the decree on Tuesday suspending "all outdoor sports, educational, cultural, etc. activities" in the city and the measures determined in the Municipal Emergency Plan were activated.

The Councilor for Security and Emergencies, Kevin Moisés Cortés Villalobos, added that "the activities that were suspended last Tuesday, remain suspended throughout Wednesday in Arrecife."

This decision "has been agreed upon jointly with all the municipalities of the island, in light of the declaration of alert due to high temperatures, agreed upon by the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands and the Security and Emergencies Consortium," it states.

Temperatures of up to 33 degrees have been recorded in Lanzarote these days.
