Two migrant people aboard an inflatable boat arrived by their own means at Caleta Caballo, in Teguise, during the night of this past Tuesday in Lanzarote.
According to what has been reported by the manager of the Lanzarote Security and Emergencies Consortium, Enrique Espinosa, to La Voz, the two people were disoriented upon their arrival at the coastal town.
The Guardia Civil moved to the place, which was initially in charge of its custody. It should be remembered that migrant people who arrive on the island by irregular routes are guarded during the first 72 hours in a temporary foreign care center (CATE), located next to the police station of the Policía Nacional in Arrecife, where they are identified.
Then, they move to other temporary stay resources in Lanzarote or are transferred to these resources in other islands.
It is the second precarious vessel that arrives in Lanzarote in the last 24 hours, the only one that has done so by its own means. These arrivals coincide with a period of good sea, after months of constant warnings for wind and swell.
