An entrepreneur from Lanzarote has been the architect of the technology of the new luxury electric car of the Hispano Suiza brand. Emilio Mellado Arbelo, a native of Lanzarote, is the CEO of World Wide Mobility, a company that has made it possible to have total control of this vehicle through its mobile application.

Behind World Wide Mobility, founded in 2016, in addition to Emilio Mellado Arbelo, are Javier Galve Uranga (Pamplona) and Jorge Jurado Filippi (Guatemala). Mellado, who is the CEO of the company, studied aeronautical management and commercial pilot. After more than 3,000 flight hours and living in five different countries, in 2014 he decided to return to his native Canary Islands and launch his first company in the Archipelago, the App 'Quiero que me lo traigas' (I want you to bring it to me). Later, he completed the Master in Internet Business (MIB) of ISDI, where he is currently a part-time professor, as well as at ESIC.

"We have made a great commitment with Carmen," Mellado said about the new luxury electric car, which bears that name in honor of the granddaughter of the founder of Hispano Suiza. "The technology we have developed for the relaunch of Hispano Suiza is unprecedented. Through the mobile phone or watch we will be able to control absolutely everything in the vehicle", he added.

'Carmen', a novel keyless electric car

Specifically, 'Carmen' is the first car on the market to use a technology that allows total control of the car from a mobile application. In addition, it is the first car to not have a physical key and is one of the main novelties of the Geneva Motor Show.

Among the many features, the owner can control the speed and power of the car from their mobile phone or watch. This allows these features to be limited to other drivers at the wheel of 'Carmen'. Another of the technologies integrated in the application that accompanies 'Carmen' is the remote regulation of the temperature, which makes it possible to heat or cool the vehicle minutes before arriving at the car.

COCHE CARMEN

Location is another of the advantages of 'Carmen'. Thanks to the World Wide Mobility application, the owner of this electric car can geolocate the vehicle and see its location on their mobile phone. In addition, it is possible to turn the lights on and off from the application.

Apart from not needing a physical key, the vehicle uses facial recognition technology to identify the owner and proceed to open the car. The doors open independently for security. The management of the charging of this electric car and any maintenance notification goes through the app for its personal management.
