39.6% of children between 5 and 11 years old in Lanzarote have already received the first dose of the vaccine against Covid, according to the director of the Lanzarote and La Graciosa Health Area, Noelia Umpiérrez, on Radio Lanzarote – Onda Cero. “We hope that this percentage will increase between now and the Epiphany”, she points out.

In addition, 80% of those over 60 years of age have already been inoculated with the third dose of the coronavirus vaccine, thus confirming the good rate of vaccination in this age group.

On the other hand, more than 30% of the population of Lanzarote between 50 and 59 years of age already have the third dose of the vaccine, while the age group between 40 and 49, which began vaccination a few days ago, already has almost 10% vaccinated.

Noelia Umpiérrez recalls that children can continue to be vaccinated through Pediatric consultations. In addition, on December 31st they will be able to attend without an appointment, from 09:00 to 13:00, at the vaccination point of the Valterra Health Center.

Umpiérrez also points out that the Lanzarote vaccination team has taken advantage of many of these vaccination appointments for children between 5 and 11 years old to vaccinate their parents, thus optimizing the vaccination process.
