Aena plans to soundproof more than 1,600 homes and buildings for health, educational and cultural use in the vicinity of the César Manrique-Lanzarote airport, and this Thursday held the first meeting of the Coordination Group of this Acoustic Insulation Plan, to report on the procedure for executing this plan. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITERD), the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the municipalities of San Bartolomé, Arrecife and Tías.

"With the execution of the future soundproofing works, the aim is to guarantee that the acoustic quality objectives established by current regulations are met inside the properties," says the airport manager, who explains that "the planned actions are part of a context of institutional collaboration between the different administrations involved and collaboration with the residents."

In this sense, Aena states that it "makes available to the Plan the resources necessary for its execution", and that it will fully assume all expenses, without the residents having to face any payment.

"These actions will be programmed according to the scenarios of the current situation and foreseeable development that delimit the Acoustic Easement of the Airport. Thus, the actions associated with the current situation will be initiated, while those linked to the foreseeable development will be carried out once the evolution of the noise and the volume of traffic foreseen for the established time horizon is confirmed," they specify from Aena.

In order to facilitate the presentation of the corresponding soundproofing requests, Aena has reminded that all those people who need information can contact the Acoustic Insulation Plans Management Office through the telephone number 91 590 31 70 or through the email address oficina.paa@ineco.com.
