The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has changed the warning for waves established for this Thursday, January 30, from yellow to orange. The waves arrive on the island accompanied by the Ivo storm.
According to the Adverse Phenomena Bulletin released this Thursday morning, the island will be under orange alert from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The probability that the combined sea from the north will bring waves of between five and six meters is between 40 and 70%.
Meanwhile, starting this Friday, the level drops and Lanzarote will be on yellow alert for waves from Friday morning until 12:00 a.m. on Saturday night. The combined sea from the north is expected to continue with waves of up to four meters.
Looking ahead to this Friday, the wind will be strong from the northeast and locally very strong gusts are not ruled out in inland areas, especially in the last hours of the day.
