On May 11, CEIP Costa Teguise, with the collaboration of the Teguise City Council, successfully carried out the project Each one fights their own battle, an initiative that promotes awareness and emotional well-being in our community through a night trail. The activity began at 5:00 a.m. in the Teguise football field and culminated at 8:00 a.m. on Famara Beach, where the 250 participants enjoyed live music, painting and dance.
The trail was guided by Calixto Herrera, recently awarded the Gold Medal of the Canary Islands, who shared his experience on the importance of emotional support. During the tour, we had the opportunity to connect with our feelings and emotions using a series of postcards, illustrated and provided by Ginés Espino for the event.
Symbolizing the journey from darkness to light, three interpretive stops were made, guided by Calixto, who helped us to focus our thoughts and connect with our inner selves before, during and after the walk. This moment marked the first step towards a transformative experience and a personal commitment to each one. Upon arriving at Famara Beach, we were greeted by a magical atmosphere where music intertwined with the natural beauty of the surroundings.
The musicians Gopar, Alejandro Rodríguez, Israel Curbelo, Camy Myles and Fefo Pérez offered harmonious melodies that merged with the emotional voices of Nereyda González, Camy Myles and Israel Curbelo, creating a serene and contemplative atmosphere. In addition, Anmy Rodríguez, Samira Rif, Tamara Illan and María Belén García delighted everyone with their dances by the sea, inviting those present to get carried away by the rhythm and energy of the moment.
The work of the artist Iván Témpera served as a powerful visual tool that connected us emotionally, offering a live and collaborative painting which was donated to the center. During this special day, a space was provided for participants to share their emotions and thoughts. Everyone was encouraged to express words of gratitude, dreams or reflections that resonated in their hearts.
"We thank the Teguise City Council for their trust in this project and also Sonilanza, Hotel Lancelot, Repartos Teguise and Medidel Informática for their support in carrying out this initiative. We hope that this initiative will continue, promoting a balance between energy and tranquility in future editions. We all carry within us stories, struggles, difficult moments that are often not seen. But, by walking together, something very important has been demonstrated: "Despite the stones in the road, the sun always shines. No one is alone in their battles"", they conclude.
