A second boat intercepted near Lanzarote this Sunday

According to data provided by Salvamento, 52 people have been rescued, of Maghrebi and sub-Saharan origin

Maritime Rescue has intercepted a boat with 52 people this Sunday on the coasts near Lanzarote. The events have occurred in territorial waters, 13 nautical miles south of Arrecife.

According to data provided by Salvamento, 52 people have been rescued, including 44 men, one woman and one minor of Maghrebi origin, and six men of sub-Saharan origin. All of them are in apparent good health.

After the rescue, the Guardamar Talía has transferred them to the Arrecife dock, where they arrived at around 2:40 p.m., they indicated. The boat was detected by the SIVE of the Las Palmas Command at around 12:05 p.m., 18.5 nautical miles southeast of Arrecife.

With the boat arriving this noon, there would already be three boats rescued in Lanzarote during the weekend and 145 people arriving on the island.
