Matteo Roveda López, a 15-year-old from Playa Blanca, has presented a comic in which he gives life to a new superhero, "Captain No." Matteo is a member and beneficiary of the Creciendo Yaiza association, and it was in the inclusive art workshops held by the NGO, with the support of the City Council, where the motivation to capture this idea arose.

"Although there are details of the texts, dialogues and drawings still to be polished, Matteo already has ten chapters of what he calls his 'first season', with the idea of perfecting the existing work and continuing with new and exciting chapters," they point out from the Consistory, which explains that the young man also discovered the design of the t-shirt with the figure of 'Captain No' (C.NO) at the presentation of the comic.

Matteo wanted to share this Thursday his first draft of the work with his parents, Karina and Gustavo, and also with monitors and partners of the association, which currently serves 60 children and young people from Lanzarote with special educational needs.

The young author of the comic explained that the story is about a paleontologist who discovered some symbols and decides with his time machine to transport himself to the time of the dinosaurs to try to decode them. "The dinosaurs arrive in the present but Dr. Fossil, a friend of the paleontologist who becomes his enemy, wants to seize the symbols to dominate the world."

The inclusive workshops of Creciendo Yaiza are led by the professor of plastic arts Martín Vázquez, the drawing and crafts monitor Karina López, and the speech therapist Yvonne Ahlf. The theoretical practical days are carried out every Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the La Aurora cultural center of Playa Blanca.

On behalf of the Yaiza City Council, the mayor Óscar Noda wanted to congratulate and recognize the work and effort of Matteo and has congratulated his family and Creciendo Yaiza for their support. Within the inclusive program of Creciendo Yaiza, the association also has a dance and theater group that has performed in the latest editions of the Playa Blanca Carnival.
