A new boat intercepted north of Lanzarote

49 people were traveling in the boat, including a woman

Maritime Rescue has rescued this Thursday a boat without engine 31 kilometers east of Órzola, as reported by the Emergency Consortium.

According to initial reports, 49 people were traveling in the boat, 48 men and one woman. Maritime Rescue after rescuing them has moved them to Puerto Naos in Arrecife where they have been treated by the Red Cross. Three of the migrants have had to be transferred to Molina Orosa due to different pathologies.

The event took place at 18:02 hours when the CECOES received a call from the boat.

This is the third boat that arrives this week to the island of Lanzarote, last Tuesday Maritime Rescue rescued two boats in which 42 people were traveling.
