A kitesurfer caused two planes to delay their landing at Lanzarote airport this Tuesday by "interfering with the approach to the runway", according to the Air Controllers' Twitter account.
As explained in the same, the kitesurfer "was stuck to the approach lights, partially covering them." A fact that they consider "reckless" due to "the turbulent wake of the planes." In fact, they point out that "normally nobody gets in there."
The two flights, one from Belfast and the other from Madrid, had to wait "for the area to clear" finally managing to land "a few minutes later."
