An Iberia Express flight that was flying the Lanzarote-Madrid route had to return to the César Manrique Airport this Monday due to a "medical problem" of a passenger on board.
According to what Air Traffic Controllers published on their Twitter, the plane returned to Lanzarote when it had already been flying for about 40 minutes. They were given "maximum priority and the approach is shortened as much as possible while coordinating medical attention on the ground." Once on the ground, the passenger was attended by the health services.
Finally, the air traffic controllers clarified "that these medical incidents are normal and occur with some frequency in our airspace for a long time without us perceiving a greater frequency in recent times."
