A boat located north of Lanzarote

There were 27 people traveling in the boat, six of them women. The Red Cross has evacuated two to Molina Orosa due to different pathologies.

Maritime Rescue has located this Sunday afternoon a boat with 27 people on board, six of them women and all of sub-Saharan origin, as reported by the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES).

The barge was about 13 nautical miles west of Alegranza. After being rescued by Salvamar, they have headed to the Puerto Naos dock in Arrecife where they will be attended by members of the Red Cross.

Maritime Rescue arrived at the port of Arrecife at approximately 10:30 p.m. After being assisted by the Red Cross, two transfers were made to the Molina Orosa Hospital due to different pathologies.

This is the first boat to arrive in Lanzarote this August. The last ones were on July 30 when two boats were rescued with about 80 people traveling on board, including people of Maghreb and sub-Saharan origin.
