A 2.6 magnitude earthquake detected southwest of Lanzarote

The National Geographic Institute has detected an earthquake of magnitude based on the amplitude of the Lg phase 2.6 mbLg to the southwest of Lanzarote. This has been reported by the autonomous body of the National Geographic Information Center.

This earthquake took place at 7:54 p.m. on this past Thursday. Its epicenter was at a distance of 29.08 latitude and -14.44 longitude from the island, between Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.

The earthquake has been detected at thirteen kilometers deep.

Thus, this earthquake took place last February, this area also registered another earthquake of magnitude 2.7 mbLg. In the months of March and October 2025, two other earthquakes were registered in the same area.
