The artist from Lanzarote Ruth María, a native of Playa Honda and resident in the United States, has contacted La Voz to ask for people's collaboration and to be able to win the art contest The people´s artist, organized by the famous actor Jhonny Depp.

The woman from Lanzarote was one of the 15 finalists in the MasterChef competition in the United States with Gordon Ramsay. Although she did not win, she says that "it was a great experience".
After that, she dedicated herself to cooking and worked in several restaurants in Los Angeles. With the arrival of the Covid pandemic, she changed course and decided to dedicate herself to painting.
"I am an artist whose works are based on the sea, transforming flat canvases into lively and dynamic ocean scenes. Inspired by my travels, I capture the energy of breaking waves, sea foam, and the subtle changes in coastal currents," he describes.
To create her canvases, she uses a mix of natural elements such as oil, fluid acrylics, resins, sand, and stones. "When capturing the ebb and flow of the tides, each piece acts as a portrait of a living, pulsating entity that is never the same from one hour to the next. My canvases invite the viewer to experience the healing energy and untamed power of the sea," she points out.
Ruth María has created paintings on commission for the singer Manny Manuel and for the bassist of Marc Anthony.
