Lanzarote prepares the final details to enjoy this Wednesday's partial eclipse, which will begin at 6:56 PM and conclude at 7:51 PM, with visibility that in some areas of the island will reach nearly 74% of the Sun's coverage. To be able to see it, it is necessary for the sky to be clear.
The National Geographic Institute has enabled a viewer to see the prediction in each area of the island and to check in which part the sky will be clear.
Based on this viewer and data from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), the areas where it will be cloudy will be in the area comprising Tinajo, La Santa, Soo, Caleta de Caballo, and Caleta de Famara, where low clouds are expected to be present, making it difficult to see the eclipse.
For their part, the best areas to see this phenomenon, according to the IGN, will be the El Golfo area and the entire southwest coast, as well as the Playa de Famara area and the cliff itself. In towns in the northern area such as Guinate, Haría, or Ye, the skies will be clear according to the prediction.
As La Voz reported, the Elder Museum of the Canary Islands will set up tents in Lanzarote and La Graciosa to accompany the population during the eclipse. In these tents, they will distribute approved glasses.
The point set up in Lanzarote will be the La Santa Maritime Promenade, just above the steps, while in La Graciosa it will be in the port square of Caleta de Sebo. In Lanzarote, they will be set up from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM in La Santa with telescopes.
