The USAE union has expanded its representation, going from two to four delegates after being the second most voted union force in the elections held last Thursday in the Lanzarote Health Area, thus doubling the representation in the Personnel Board, where the demands of health professionals will be addressed.

In addition to the achievements made in the last four years, such as the rulings that oblige the Canary Islands Health Service to convene the Canary Islands OPE of 2019, assigning the subgroup C1 to the Nursing Care Technicians (TCE) group, the agreement reached with the Ministries of Health and Education to update the functions of the TCE, or the improvements implemented in continuing education, are added the demands on which we are still working, such as early retirement at sixty years without penalty, the 35-hour day, the inclusion of TCEs in home care, the implementation of the Coordinator and the Training Tutor, the C1 group for Mid-Level Technicians and the B group for Higher-Level Technicians, or the increase in staff.

“It is evident that many projects and objectives require a continuous struggle over time and that this sometimes extends longer than we would all like, but the health professionals of Lanzarote have been able to see our daily work in defense of their interests and our continuous commitment to their rights," says Verónica Rodríguez, head of USAE in Lanzarote. "For this reason, they have placed their trust in our acronym, which has allowed us to double the representation, going from two to four delegates, and thus improve our presence at the negotiating tables," she adds.

"Because of this, during the next four years we will work supported by this momentum so that all our demands materialize,” concludes Rodríguez.
