The Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital of Lanzarote has inaugurated this Thursday morning the new rest room enabled for families. The presentation of the room was attended by the director of DinoSol Supermarkets and president of the 'DinoSol Foundation', Davinia Domínguez, and the director, Virginia Ávila.
They were accompanied by the manager of Sanitary Services of Lanzarote, Pablo Eguía; the head of the Pediatric Service of the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital, Concepción Pérez; the Minister of Social Welfare of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Marci Acuña; the president of Pequeño Valiente, José Jerez, and the architect responsible for the project, Belén Gil.
This room has equipment with all the comforts and has been decorated with colors and children's motifs to create a cheerful and friendly atmosphere. The 'Family Rest Room' project was created in response to the need to have a space, within hospitals, specifically designed to provide the numerous families who come to the center daily with a place to rest and relax.
With the purpose of fulfilling this objective, the Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands Executive, through its Humanization Plan, has promoted this project. 'Fundación DinoSol', recognizing the "tensions and concerns" faced by these families during the treatments of their loved ones, wanted to collaborate in this project and, in this way, provide a "welcoming and quiet refuge where they can recover their strength, replenish energy and find a brief respite in the midst of the stress" they may experience in a hospital environment.
