The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Department of Environment, has proceeded to the placement of several signs that warn of the prohibition of access via the Los Caleteros path, in Famara.

According to the Emergency Consortium, two signs have been placed, one at the height of Guinate and another at the Casa del Agua from Famara, all of this due to the landslide that took place this past Tuesday of a part of the cliff and which could be seen from different points of Lanzarote and, above all, from La Graciosa.

These landslides affected part of the path, so the authorities have decreed its partial closure to guarantee the safety of the population.

Specifically, access has been restricted that connects the so-called “Casa del Agua” and runs along the middle of the cliff, until reaching the path that connects with the ascent to Guinate.

The Consortium has reported that it is a natural process that sometimes occurs after rains. In total, about 25 meters of terrain detached, which slid from almost the top, forty meters from it, and reaching almost to the coast.
