The Canary Islands experienced an episode of aurora borealis in the early hours of Friday, October 11, for the second time in five months, a fact caused by the current solar cycle, of high activity of magnetic storms that occur in the Sun.

As happened last May, images showing the beauty of this natural phenomenon, of a reddish luminescence, have been captured from distant locations of the polar north such as the Canary Islands.

In this case, it was the photographer Rafael Sánchez who captured them in the early hours of Friday from Timanfaya. "Second time this year that the aurora borealis can be seen in the Canary Islands, thanks to the geothermal storm," he said on his social networks.
