The Matagorda Beach is the image of the ONCE lottery ticket for Wednesday, July 15, belonging to the series ‘Beaches with a flag’. Five million lottery tickets will disseminate this natural jewel of the Canary town of Tías throughout Spain.
José Antonio López, ONCE delegate in the Canary Islands, and José Juan Cruz, mayor of the Tías City Council, have presented this lottery ticket, accompanied by Vanessa Mendoza, director of the ONCE Agency in Arrecife; Nicolás Saavedra, First Deputy Mayor; Christopher Notario, Councilor for Beaches; and Begoña de Felipe, director of Hotel Ilunion Costa Sal.
Matagorda Beach is one of the most important in the tourist enclave of Puerto del Carmen. With golden sand and calm waters, it is the perfect place to spend a pleasant day at the beach with family and friends, enjoying the good weather that characterizes this area of Lanzarote.
It is located in the southern part of the island, belonging to the municipality of Tías. It is 800 meters long and is a quiet beach, with a sandy area and a marsh area.
With the series ‘Beaches with a flag’, ONCE wants to make known the two beaches in each province most frequently recognized in recent years with the Blue Flag classification. Furthermore, it aims to emphasize the conservation of these natural spaces dedicated to leisure.
‘Beaches with a flag’ is a series of lottery tickets that begins in 2025 and will continue in the following years, during the summer months.
