Mararía will address the prevention of sexual violence in its 2024 Reflection Days, with a meeting on June 6 and 7 at the Lancelot Playa hotel in Arrecife. In the days corresponding to the 30th anniversary of its constitution, the social and cultural association for women Mararía will delve into the prevention and intervention in sexual violence, with two days of training, reflection and debate around the patriarchal culture of macho aggression, the prostitution system and pornography.

The presentations that structure the conference, by women specialists in equality and gender perspective, will take place in the hotel auditorium, on Thursday, June 6 in the morning and afternoon and on Friday the 7th in the morning. In addition, the meeting, generically called 'Keys for the prevention and intervention in sexual violence: Identification and Management of Critical Knots' will be broadcast live through the association's YouTube channel for online monitoring.

After the opening ceremony presided over by the authorities, the activity will begin at ten o'clock with the conferences "Isn't it that bad? Culture of rape and sexual violence', by the doctor in Sociology from the ULL and expert in sexual violence, pornography and prostitution, Esther Torrado; and then 'Body and sexuality: a perfect target', by the doctor in equality from the University of Salamanca and former Secretary of State of the Presidency, Soledad Murillo. The morning session will be closed by the director of the ONGd Haurralde in Human Rights of Women and president of the COMPI coordinator, Patricia Viviana Ponce, with the talk-colloquium 'Global dimensions of sexual violence'.
